A nine-year-old girl was beaten up on a city stadium, a small neighborhood soccer field, in the town of La Madeleine (North) The girl was violently attacked while playing football with two of her friends. Transported in critical condition to Lille University Hospital, the little girl is today in a stable condition, but remains seriously injured.

The suspect presented himself at the police station on Friday, accompanied by his mother. He will be summoned before the Lille children's court on June 11, 2024, and placed under judicial supervision with a ban on going to Square Pastour de La madeleine, a provisional judicial educational measure, and obligation to submit to medical treatment or care accompanied by a provisionaljudicial educational measure. The 14- year-old will be placed underjudicial supervision with an obligation to “enter into contact with the victim’s family,” the prosecution tells us.
