Thursday, late in the afternoon, a 9-year-old girl was playing football with two of her friends in the city stadium on Charles Pastour Square. An altercation then took place with the 14-year-old boy, who hit her in the face several times. Once the little girl is on the ground, the attacker hits her in the head before she loses consciousness.
A summons to appear before the children’s court
Transported in critical condition to Lille University Hospital, the little girl is today in a stable condition, but remains seriously injured. While an investigation into “violence against a minor under 15 years old with ITT (total incapacity for work) greater than 8 days” was opened following the attack, the suspect presented himself at the police station on Friday, accompanied by his mother.
The 14-year-old teenager will be summoned before the Lille children's court on June 11, 2024. “Pending his appearance, he was placed under judicial supervision with a ban on going to Square Pastour de La Madeleine, a ban on “enter into contact with the victim and obligation to submit to medical treatment or care accompanied by a provisional judicial educational measure,” the prosecution tells us.
The nine-year-old girl was interviewed by investigators to find out the precise circumstances of the attack.
