BYD will land in the profitable electric pick-up segment - News and Previews. There is no certainty but it will probably be shown as a world premiere at upcoming Auto China which will open in Beijing on April 25th.
The company, which recently overtook Tesla in sales of electric models in China, aims to intensify competition with other brands - such as Ford, Ram, Toyota and Tesla - which are present or are about to do so in the rich light truck segment. No information was released regarding price positioning or even the characteristics of the propulsion system and autonomy. It is reasonable to assume that BYD will exploit the DM-o platform already present in the Fang Cheng Bao Leopard 5 SUV.
