A 41-year-old man from the Freising district is on trial. He is said to have beaten and raped his daughter.

The investigation got rolling when the girl tried to commit suicide by jumping from a bridge. The public prosecutor's office charges the father of three children with bodily harm, attempted serious sexual abuse of children, attempted rape and sexual intercourse between relatives. The defense attorney Robert Alavi suggested a legal discussion between those involved in the case. But as presiding judge Michaela Wawerla reported afterwards, “an understanding of the ideas is utopian” The defense lawyer believes that his client is guilty of the charges and that a prison sentence of around six years is "probable range" for his client. The trial is expected to last until June, and several experts will also be heard in the process. The defendant is now divorced from the mother of his children and has no children of his own, the public prosecutor says. The case is being heard in Landshut regional court.
