Two women died in the emirate of Dubai and a man died in Sharjah, the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers said. The storm hit the Emirates and Bahrain on Monday and Tuesday after hitting Oman, another Gulf country, where 21 people, including several children, were killed.

The record rains never seen in the Emirates have caused impressive flooding, particularly in Dubai, the tourist and financial center of the country. After the cancellation of more than a thousand flights, traffic at Dubai airport, one of the busiest in the world, also remains disrupted, a spokesperson for Dubai Airports said on Friday. The number of arriving flights will be limited until Sunday, an airport spokesperson said, adding that departures will continue to be assured until at least the end of the week, if not later in the week. The death toll now stands at at least four, including a 70-year-old man whose vehicle was swept away by water in Ras al-Khaimah, the Emirati police said.
