Renault Argentina launched the renewed Renault Duster, a new update of the second generation that had been launched in 2021. In this way, the French brand once again has a presence in the compact SUV segment, one of the most competitive on the market.
This benchmark of the category (in which it has become number one in sales), returns to the local market with
slight aesthetic changes
both on the exterior and interior and with
greater safety equipment
.
Like its predecessor, the renewed Duster arrives imported from Colombia with a range made up of three versions (Intens, Iconic 4x2 and Iconic 4x4) and the already known ranges of 1.6 liter and 1.3 (turbo) gasoline engines.
What does the new Duster bring?
Among the aesthetic modifications, the incorporation of new LED headlights with daytime running light (DRL) stands out. In addition, there is a new taillight design, while the grille now has a gloss black finish.
In the top-of-the-range versions, it adds the roof bar with the Duster insignia, a new insignia that identifies the version, black rearview mirrors with orange details and 17” diamond-cut and darkened wheels.
In the cabin, for its part, the top-of-the-range versions have a new upholstery design. In turn, all variants incorporate an unprecedented storage drawer between the front seats that also serves as an armrest.
In terms of safety, the novelty is that the range is now equipped as standard with
6 airbags
(front, side and curtain), while the Iconic (full) versions add rain and blind spot sensors.
In terms of technology, all have an 8-inch touch screen and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition, they add three USB-C ports (one in the front and two in the rear seat) and a wireless charger for the Iconic versions.
Known mechanics
The renewed Duster continues to offer two gasoline engine options. The entry-level version (Intens) has the 1.6-liter with 115 horsepower and 156 Nm of torque, and a five-speed manual transmission.
For its part, the Iconic variants are equipped with the 1.3-liter turbo engine with 163 horsepower and 270 Nm, combined with a CVT box and single-wheel drive system (front) or with a six-speed manual gearbox and 4x4 traction.
The three versions of the new Renault Duster are "capped" at
$27,895,000
to avoid paying the first scale of the luxury tax (starting at $28,000,000).
