Security measures, including the permanent presence of a security agent at the emergency entrance, were taken by the management of the Challans hospital (Vendée) after the attack on Saturday of a stretcher bearer, a- we learned Monday from management.

After consulting staff representatives, management “has implemented several measures aimed at strengthening security within Challans hospital. Among these, the immediate implementation of the presence of an agent 24 hours a day at the emergency entrance,” indicates a press release from management.

“It is also envisaged to strengthen the internal transport teams which will also be equipped, as well as the emergency service, with a PTI (Lone Worker Protection) system”, according to the text.

Furthermore, "a medico-psychological emergency unit continues its intervention in the establishment", specifies the management according to which all the governing bodies, in conjunction with the Regional Health Agency (ARS) "are fully mobilized in support of the victim and the healthcare community, committed more than ever to defending the values ​​of public hospital service in the face of this shameful act.”

These measures are “a great step forward in any case for caregivers”, declared Laëtitia Fortineau, CFDT section secretary, who also reported the announcement of the creation of “working groups”.
