The British car manufacturer Aston Martin stands for noble and exclusive sports cars. Now the Coupé Vantage was presented.

From top premium to ultra luxury is the transformation that Aston Martin is committed to. Small, fine and exclusive is the motto of the sports car manufacturer, and the comparison of the years 2022 with 2023 confirms the success story.

38 percent more sales: 2023 was a year of success for Aston Martin

2023 put a smile on the faces of those responsible at Aston Martin: Sales in the EU increased by a whopping 38 percent compared to 2022. In absolute numbers, these are values that would cause alarm among most car manufacturers, but not at the company headquarters Gaydon in the UK. 1,584 of the elegant sports cars were sold in 2023, compared to 1,148 the year before. For customers, this means exclusivity and the guarantee that you don't have to greet a brand colleague at every second red light.

So that the success story can be continued, the Vantage Coupé was revised for the 2024 model year and shown to the public for the first time on a presentation tour through Germany. We were able to take a look at the fast Brit from the outside and inside at Motorworld in Munich.

The Vantage is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 with 665 horsepower

The most noticeable change to the exterior appearance is a larger radiator grille with new front lights. This is intended to provide a sharper look. Under the hood, a 4.0-liter V8 with an output of 665 hp ensures adequate propulsion. According to the manufacturer, the unit from engine partner Mercedes-AMG takes the Vantage from zero to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and makes the two-seater reach a maximum speed of 325 km/h.

Technical support is provided to the driver by a new chassis setup, an electronic limited-slip differential and launch control. Body and chassis stiffeners are intended to ensure better handling. The switching speeds are changed using an eight-speed automatic transmission. According to Aston Martin, the weight distribution between the front and rear axle is 50:50.

According to the manufacturer, this balance is also one of the reasons why the Vantage will only be available as a combustion engine. Hybrid means additional weight, resulting in weaker performance and therefore less emotion. Aston Martin has also postponed the introduction of a fully electric super sports car because demand is expected to be too low. The brand's fans and customers have been waiting for a while for the Valhalla super sports car, which has over 1,000 hp and is said to have a speed of up to 350 km/h.

Completely new cockpit with large displays

The cockpit is completely new. Large displays, more connectivity and the sensible arrangement of switches and buttons on the dashboard and center console show a certain influence from Mercedes-Benz. However, the rather fiddly, delicate buttons and buttons on the steering wheel also seem to be inspired by the star brand.

If you want to call the Vantage your own, you have to put down almost 200,000 euros. However, customers have the opportunity to invest quite a few euros in additional refinement and individualization, so that hardly a copy will probably be delivered for less than 220,000 euros. The first examples are scheduled to be delivered to the eleven dealers in Germany in the second quarter of this year, and the first proud owners will be able to receive their Vantage in the summer. Aston Martin expects almost 500 new registrations of the sports coupe in 2024, but in 2025 the figure from 2023 will be significantly exceeded.
