The new range of DS Automobiles models will be based on two trim levels, called Pallas and Étoile respectively, which will debut on DS 4 in April 2024. The Pallas and Étoile versions will be identified by a specific badge: the first finely combines the door of a large Parisian palace and the historic axis of Paris (Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, Concorde obelisk, Arc de Triomphe and Arche de la Defense); while the second recalls a large ray of light enhanced by the twelve avenues that converge towards Place Charles-de-Gaulle.
Specifically, the name Pallas represents a return after 60 years, given that the Pallas arrived on the market way back in 1964. The objective, however, remains the same: to reflect French "savoir faire" thanks to complete equipment tailor-made for different segments. Étoile, on the other hand, is the symbol of Place Charles-de-Gaulle, what in the past was known as Place de l'Étoile, in the center of which stands the Arc de Triomphe, and where the main Parisian avenues converge forming a star, according to the project of Baron Haussmann.
Furthermore, Étoile was also the highest title awarded to ballet dancers at the Opéra National de Paris since the 19th century. With these premises, it is clear that it also represents the brand's top trim level, as can also be seen from the interiors reserved for the DS identified by this high-sounding name, which will be upholstered in fine Alcantara or Nappa leather. With this strategy, the French premium brand intends to offer greater clarity, highlighting the main characteristics of its cars.
