The suspects were arrested on Monday with eight other people, six of whom were released without being charged, the prosecution told AFP.

Suspects placed under judicial supervision

At the end of their police custody, two were indicted on Wednesday for "participation in a group formed with a view to preparing willful violence or destruction or damage", a charge also held on Thursday for the last two suspects.

One of them “was also indicted for the prohibited carrying of a category D weapon and the other for willful damage in a meeting,” the prosecution said. These two suspects were placed under judicial supervision.

Among the arrested activists, there is a former treasurer of the Lyon GUD but also an activist already sentenced to five months in prison for having participated, on November 25, in the raid on Romans-sur-Isère (Drôme) by the ultra-right, on the sidelines of the drama of Crépol and the death of Thomas. Others arrested have already stood out for having participated in brawls during incidents on the sidelines of the CAN in 2019 in Lyon after Algeria's victory.

Seven indicted in February

At the beginning of February, seven alleged members of the Lyon ultra-right had already been indicted in this same case, notably for “criminal conspiracy”, a charge punishable by five to ten years in prison. Two of them, aged around twenty, known figures of the ultra-right in Lyon, had been placed in pre-trial detention.

On the evening of November 11, dozens of people dressed in black, their faces partly masked, attempted to break down the door of a premises in Vieux Lyon using fireworks mortars and iron bars, according to several witnesses. .

Inside, around a hundred people were following a conference by a doctor who had worked in Gaza, organized by the Palestine 69 Collective. The attack left seven injured, three of whom were transferred to hospital.

An attack claimed by the “Guignol Squad”

A man close to “the ultra-right movement” was arrested the same evening near the scene, in possession of a baseball bat, brass knuckles and a mouthguard, according to the prosecution. He was immediately indicted.

The use of data in his phone, video surveillance images and telephone markings allowed investigators to identify other participants.

The attack on the pro-Palestinian conference was claimed on a Telegram loop of ultra-right identity and neo-Nazi groups by the “Guignol Squad”, an informal group customary for violent actions in Lyon.

This action relaunched calls to dissolve small ultra-right groups active in Lyon, including Les Remparts, built on the ashes of Génération Identitaire, a collective dissolved in 2021.
