“I admitted the facts because I am better today medically, I had to pay for my stupidity because what I did is disgusting”, assures Patrick Canié from the glass box reserved for the accused in the court assizes of Haute-Garonne. Until this Friday evening, March 29, this man, now 58 years old, is on trial for having killed his neighbor, Henri Rozès, 65, with five stab wounds on May 6, 2007 in their residence in Plaisance- du-Touch.

The victim, hemiplegic, was found dead on the sofa in his home located on the ground floor of this two-story public housing building the next day by two neighbors, worried about not having seen him for several days. Heard by investigators in 2007 without any charges being brought against him, the accused ended up going to the police in 2020 to confess to his crime, pursued by his conscience.
