The Pioneer, Jaco J7, has Tucson dimensions and a promise of manufacturer field/site capabilities

Just when you thought there was no place to push another pin in the battery of Chinese car brands that have been coming to Israel in recent years, after we first reported it here, Kalmobil officially announces the entry of two more, this time under Kalmobil's wings.

These two car brands belong to the Chery group, whose models we already know under another importer - Frisbee (formerly Carso). However, unlike Chery, these are considered in the group as the "export brands", that is, those that are supposed to present the advanced technologies both in the field of propulsion and in the field of the interface as well as the positioning, which will be higher than the more popular Chery.

Both Jaco and Omuda will arrive in the first phase with crossover models, which will be joined by passenger cars in the future. When the intention is to present 5 models by the end of 2025.

Petrol initially, plug in later/manufacturer site

The first brand to land here will be Jaco, whose marketing will begin in the last quarter of 2024. Its first vehicle will be the J7, which, at least according to the statements, will also guarantee off-road capabilities with 20 cm of ground clearance in the dual-drive versions. In the first phase, the vehicle will be marketed with a gasoline engine and two months After that, a plug-in version of the model will also arrive.

With a length of 4.51 meters and a wheelbase of 2.67 meters, this is a crossover with the dimensions of a Hyundai Tucson for the purpose of comparison. The gasoline version will be powered by a supercharged 1.6-liter engine with 195 hp and 29.6 kg. In the plug-in version, it is expected to use the same engine but with electric boost, which according to the manufacturer will allow up to 160 km of electric range.

A 14.8-inch screen that will control and display the various functions in the vehicle/manufacturer's website

In the passenger compartment, there is a 14.8-inch screen that will control the vehicle's systems, among other things in the driving modes, the display of peripheral cameras and under the vehicle, a 10.25-inch dashboard, an overhead display, and more. The vehicle has not yet been tested in public crash tests, but the manufacturer states that it was designed to meet the requirements for 5 stars. Its platform counterpart from Chery, the FX recorded such a score in its crash tests.

After the J7 will come the J8, also a crossover, but this time with a length of almost 6 meters that will offer 6 seats and plug-in drive for a range of between 90 and 160 km. In general, in both brands the concept is to drive the large models with gasoline engines , hybrid and plug-in and the smaller ones with electric drive.

The ambition is to position Jaco and Omuda above the more popular Cheri in the hierarchy of the concern/manufacturer site

In the first quarter of 2025, the Omuda brand will join marketing, with its first vehicle being the C9. This is actually the Cherry FX in a different version, slightly more equipped and luxurious. It will also come with a plug-in drive with a range of up to 160 km.

In the second quarter, Jaco's J5 will arrive, a compact crossover in the dimensions of a Hyundai Kona that will be offered like the Kona with gasoline, hybrid and electric drive.

The last two models he saw here and are scheduled for the end of 2025 They are Omuda's C7 and C3.The first, like the J7 in terms of dimensions and belonging to the category and the second is smaller than it, apparently parallel to the C9/FX.

The larger J8 already stretches to 6 meters and will offer 6 seats/maker site

Both brands will be marketed in the same sales halls, and in light of the large overlap between the model sizes, it will be interesting to see how they will be positioned both against each other and in terms of the competition. The emphasis on the perception of the brands as those aimed at the premium more than hints that those who expect a game here in the popular price areas are going to be disappointed.

If we refer to Chery's FX and Tigo 7 Pro as a reference point, with starting prices of NIS 150 and 160 thousand respectively, the pricing of the new brands is expected to be higher than them, by how much? It's hard to say, but if we have to estimate, then since the other two Chinese plug-in models marketed here are also highly targeted - Link and Ko 01 and WEY Kopi 02 are an example, we may also see price tags of NIS 230,000 and up.
