Apple is expected to refresh its headphone line in September with the introduction of the fourth generation of AirPods (AirPods) - according to a report by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gorman.
According to the publication, the company asked the various suppliers to start producing the new models as early as May, which will replace the AirPods 3. Based on this schedule, Gorman expects the headphones to be launched in September or October.
The two new models are expected to come with a new design that will fit better in the ear, improved audio quality and an updated charging case with a USB-C connection.
Gorman adds that the more luxurious model will also include active noise filtering and a built-in speaker in the charging case that can play a sound for locating through the Find My service.
Further according to the publication, we discover that the code names of the two models are B768E and B768M, and they are intended to replace the current series of products, in which Apple simultaneously sells the second generation (Airpods 2) at a price of $129 and the third generation (Airpods 3) at a price of 179 dollar.
The two new models are expected to come with a new design that will fit better in the ear.

So in fact, after lower than expected sales of the third generation, Apple hopes that the new versions will be a hit.
According to Gorman, Apple will produce between 20 and 25 million units of the new models, which if realized would make the headphones the biggest launch ever for the AirPods.
Later this year, Apple is expected to refresh the AirPods Max model, which will come with a USB-C charging section - apparently without other new features.
And what about the new AirPods Pro?
Gorman explains that Apple does not plan to launch a new version until at least 2025.
