National coach Julian Nagelsmann has extended his contract until 2026 and will remain in office until the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada. Although in recent weeks it seemed as if the 36-year-old's return to Munich was becoming more and more heated, this trace has now disappeared. But who could follow?
From one ex to the next: Is FC Bayern trying Hansi Flick?
Another former coach could make his comeback to the German record champions in the new season. Hansi Flick had a very successful time in Munich and won the treble in 2020. He left in the summer of 2021, partly due to differences with Hasan Salihamidžić. He is no longer in office, which makes it more likely that the former national coach will return. After 24 games and an average of 0.83 points, however, it was over again. No real letter of recommendation for FC Bayern.
Another is Martín Demichelis. As a player, he played 259 games for the record champions and won the German championship four times. After stints with the U19 and FC Bayern second team, where he was very successful, he joined the top Argentine club River Plate in January 2023, which he still coaches today. Among other things, he became Argentine champion and scored more than two points on average in 73 games. Why not?
