Former ski star Felix Neureuther admits in an interview with Marcel Büchel that he likes to introduce himself in a bar with a false first name.
Munich – Imagine you are in a bar and Felix Neureuther enters the room. They aren't quite sure if it's really him and talk to him. He answers: “Hello, I’m Marcel.”
Neureuther admits that he would use a fake name in a bar
A scene could go something like this. Because as Neureuther admits in the podcast “Mensch, Büchel”, with host Marco Büchel, he occasionally uses a fake name in a bar. “If you meet me in a bar somewhere in the world and you don’t know me, then I’ll say "Hello, I'm Marcel," said the 40-year-old and laughed. When Büchel asked which last name he would then use, he said: “I won’t even say that.”
And if Neureuther was asked about his profession? “I used to ski a bit,” countered the former ski racer. Büchel, on the other hand, makes fun of it and tells young athletes who don't know him: "I used to ski too, but not as well as you." Büchel is considered one of the best ski racers of his time and was on the World Cup podium several times .

Neureuther on his current job: “What am I actually?”
However, Neureuther admits that most people wouldn't believe he was "Marcel." “Then I’ll say that I’m Felix,” he admits. When he's traveling somewhere in the world, he can also say his name, "people don't know me." But he doesn't add that he was once a ski racer.
Büchel also wanted to know what Neureuther called his current job. “Well, what am I anyway? That's a big question. “What are you when you’ve stopped playing sports?” he plays the question back to Büchel. He says he works in communications. “But you’re more than that, Büchsi,” said Neureuther. The 52-year-old said yes, but also said that there was no job title for it.
Neureuther sees it similarly. “I do so many different things, I could name 15, but there is no name for it,” said the former world-class skier. Incidentally, Neureuther just celebrated his 40th birthday. Among the many well-wishers was his good friend Bastian Schweinsteiger, who dug out a few children's photos.
