Danny Avdia at Washington Wizards practice/WashWizards X account
Danny Avdia was just one assist short of recording a triple-double tonight (between Friday and Saturday) for the first time in his NBA career, but Washington (60:14) succumbed at home 96:87 to Detroit (61:13) in a meeting between the two weakest teams in the league . The Israeli scored 18 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and handed out 9 assists in 39 minutes on the floor, in which he recorded 4 of 8 on two-pointers, 2 of 6 from beyond the arc and 4 of 4 from the free throw line, and also lost 5 balls.
The Wizards, who came after a loss to Brooklyn, but before that had won three games in a row, saw the Pistons interrupt an eight-game losing streak at their expense. The host erased a 19-point deficit going into the break, thanks to a third quarter in which they won 21:35 on their way to leading by a point with 6:50 minutes remaining, only to suffer a 15:3 run by Detroit that ran away to victory.
Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, Jaylen Doran dominated under the baskets with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Corey Kispert stood out in Washington alongside Avdia, with 23 points including 5 three-pointers, Kyle Kuzma was stuck on 12 points - like the amount scored by the entire team in the last quarter.

The Wizards will try to bounce back on Sunday when they host Miami.
