The Professional Football League then imposed a suspended penalty point on the two clubs.


The risk level for the Northern derby has been raised to level 4, on a scale of 5. A decision motivated by previous incidents between Lille and Lens in recent years.


On the occasion of the opening match of the 27th day of Ligue 1, between Lille and Lens, the Northern prefecture deployed a significant security perimeter classified 4 out of 5. It aims to prevent Lensois supporters without tickets from approaching of the stadium and its adjacent streets, from this Friday noon and until 4 a.m. Saturday.
