FC Bayern is facing upheaval. Bastian Schweinsteiger gives Joshua Kimmich advice and expresses a transfer request.
Munich – Even if Bastian Schweinsteiger does not hold a position at FC Bayern, his former club is of course close to his heart. Eventually he became a German football legend in Munich. In the ARD “Sportschau” he explained what he wants for the future.
The focus of Max Eberl's efforts at the moment is of course the search for a new coach - many other personnel and transfer decisions are linked to this. Joshua Kimmich also recently let this through.
Schweinsteiger calls on FC Bayern to change: “Exchanging coaches is not enough”
However, Schweinsteiger warns: “Just replacing a coach now is not enough. FC Bayern definitely needs to change something in their squad planning.”
Schweinsteiger sees the biggest construction sites for the Munich upheaval under the new sports director Max Eberl in his previous position and on the wings. “Especially in the central midfield, I think it would be good to add more,” said the former world-class six, expressing a transfer request.

Schweinsteiger advises Kimmich to accept the right-back role
Although they have developed a promising talent in Aleksandar Pavlovic, Schweinsteiger sees further need. According to Schweinsteiger, Joshua Kimmich could also help if he were to play regularly as a right-back at FCB in the future, as he did recently with the national team.
Schweinsteiger addressed the Swabian directly - with an announcement and a piece of advice at the same time: "I think Bayern Munich would certainly be happy if he said, I'll play right-back and I'll do that for you for the next few years," said Schweinsteiger: “He actually has everything he needs to play there at a world-class level.”

Schweinsteiger wants “someone like Guardiola or Heynckes” at FC Bayern
Schweinsteiger is hoping for a big name at Bayern as the successor to coach Thomas Tuchel, who is leaving at the end of the season. “It would of course be nice if a coach like Pep Guardiola or Jupp Heynckes could be hired again,” said Schweinsteiger: “Someone who will bring stability over the years and pay attention to the values that FC Bayern conveys.” (
