The young triathletes from Schongau started the season with “Swim & Run” competitions. There were several top places in Würzburg and Nuremberg.
Schongau
– At the start of the season it was swimming and running for the young athletes of the Schongau tri-team. The young athletes achieved impressive placings in two competitions under the “Swim & Run” label.

Two of them, Maja Zidek and Alexander Tresselt, both of whom belong to the Bavarian Triathlon Association's junior squad, qualified for the Germany Youth Cup. You can also take part in the Youth DM in August in Jena. “This shows how well the season preparations went,” the tri-team said in a statement.
The Schongauers started with the “Swim & Run” in Würzburg. In this competition, which is part of the BTV Memmert Junior Cup, 400 meters of freestyle had to be completed in the indoor swimming pool. Afterwards - according to the existing time intervals - the hunt started on the running track. Depending on the age group, the distances were between 2000 and 3000 meters.

Even in the water, some of the Schongauers were in top form. Jonas Pertschi (M16/17) took second place in his age group with 5:25 minutes. Alexander Tresselt (M14/15) came in third (5:30) and
Maja Zidek
(W14/15) was fourth (5:40) among 19 starters.
On the running route, which included a steep climb, Pertschi defended his second overall place among eight classified participants with the third-best running time (11:21). Zidek proved to be the fastest in her class (7:53) and moved into second place behind winner Hellena Hugenberg (TV Bad Mergentheim), who was a total of seven seconds faster than the tri-team athlete. Tresselt had the fifth best running time (7:10) and finished the competition in fourth place. In the same class, Niklas Pertschi ended up in 14th place with a total time of 16:11 minutes. The fifth tri-team starter in Würzburg, Alicia Tresselt, finished tenth overall (16:39) in the “W12/13”.

The Schongau triathlon division set off for Nuremberg the following week with a large contingent of ten athletes. The “Swim & Run” consisted of three parts. Each age group completed 50 meters of freestyle in the water. Afterwards, students A and B each had to do a complex test over 200 meters in which different swimming techniques were tested. The other classes had to swim another freestyle distance (400/800 meters). Then it was time to run, with the mass start requiring different distances (1000/3000/5000 meters) depending on the age group.
