Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche is apparently close to extending his contract and will remain with the club in the long term.

Frankfurt – As sports director, Markus Krösche formed Eintracht Frankfurt into a team that competes for international places every year. Under his direction, the SGE won the 2021/22 Europa League and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the club's history. Now the contract, which originally ran until 2025, is to be extended early, as

Bild

reports.

Eintracht wants to extend the contract with Krösche

An agreement could be reached between Krösche and the SGE as early as next week. The sports director's working paper is to be extended until 2028. This means that Eintracht Frankfurt would keep the 43-year-old in the long term and put a stop to a move. Recently there were rumors that Borussia Dortmund were interested in signing him.

In response to a dpa request, Eintracht Frankfurt commented that they do not comment on “ongoing contract discussions and rumors”. According to

Bild,

Krösche is still consulting with his wife Viktoria and his two daughters, who live in their home town of Paderborn, but an extension seems to be just a formality.

Markus Krösche is known at Eintracht Frankfurt for making unpleasant and unpopular decisions - always in the interests of the club. This included, for example, the separation from Oliver Glasner after the 2022/23 season. The sports director had to take a lot of criticism for this, but he continued on his path at the SGE.

Will Krösche stay at Eintracht Frankfurt until 2028?

The 43-year-old scored a coup with the sale of Randal Kolo Muani, as Eintracht Frankfurt received a fee of 95 million euros for the Frenchman after he moved to Main for a free transfer a year earlier. But players like Jesper Lindström were also sold for a significant profit.

Krösche's strategy at SGE seems to be working. He signs young players who have great potential and who can develop further in peace with the Eagles. If an appropriate offer is made, they will then be sold at a significant profit. There are currently other promising talents in the squad with Pacho, Larsson, Ekitike, Bahoya and Chaïbi, and Lisztes, Amenda and Brown are also coming for the new season. Markus Krösche's path promises success and it seems to be continuing at Eintracht Frankfurt - at least until 2028. (
