The Italian Jannik Sinner (world No. 3) is the first to qualify for the semi-finals of the Masters 1000 in Miami by beating the Czech Tomas Machac (N.60) 6-4, 6-2 in the quarter-finals on Wednesday. Sinner, who has only lost one match since the start of the year, in the semi-final of the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells against the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (N.2), will meet in the semi-final in Florida the Russian Daniil Medvedev (N.4) or Chilean Nicolas Jarry (N.23).
Against Machac, Sinner made the break in the first game. But the Czech, who was playing the third quarter-final of his career on the ATP circuit, the first in Masters 1000, while waiting for better, immediately broke.
The winner of the Australian Open had to wait until the seventh game to steal Machac's serve again and took 52 minutes to win the first set 6-4, with a shutout. In the second set, Sinner clearly took the upper hand. Sovereign on his serve, he took twice in a row that of an opponent suffering more and more, at 1-1 then 3-1, to finally win 6-4, 6-2 in 1 h 31 min.
