Since the Olympic Games in Seoul 1988, condoms were distributed to male and female athletes in the Olympic Villages in order to raise awareness of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV, until Tokyo 2021 things changed.
Apart from the fact that the games in Japan were postponed a year due to the corona epidemic, the following year they took place with "social distancing" which included a ban on closeness, eating together and the highlight - a ban on having sex in the Olympic village.
At the upcoming games to be held this summer in Paris, the director of the Olympic Village, Laurent Michaud, proudly announced that officially "sex will return to the Olympic Games".
14,500 athletes and staff members will be in the Olympic Village nearing the end of its preparation for the summer months, and they will be distributed 300,000 condoms, a number that can supply each and every one of them several times during the Paris Games.

"We wanted to create places for the athletes where they would feel comfortable," said the manager of the Olympic Village in Paris.
"It is certain that the athletes will be happy to come here and do as they wish. I am convinced that they will be enthusiastic about what awaits them."
