National coach Nagelsmann is sending a clear signal with a new DFB squad

Nagelsmann surprised many fans with his squad nomination.

With Deniz Undav, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Waldemar Anton (all VfB Stuttgart), Maximilian Beier (TSG Hoffenheim), Jan-Niklas Beste (1. FC Heidenheim) and Aleksandar Pavlovic (FC Bayern Munich), the national coach has appointed six debutants.

There are also six returnees – including goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Real star Toni Kroos.

Only striker Niclas Füllkrug was nominated by runner-up Borussia Dortmund.

With his squad, Hansi Flick's successor has sent a clear signal.

With the new distribution of roles, he wants to lead the DFB team to a successful European Championship.

“It is rare for teams with 20 top stars to be successful,” says Julian Nagelsmann at the press conference to announce the squad.

“We said early on after the last games that we definitely have to and will change things,” said the 36-year-old.

International matches in March: Germany meets France and Netherlands

The international match year begins on Saturday with the game against runner-up world champions France.

Kick-off at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon is at 9 p.m.

The DFB team will also wear the new jersey for the European Championships for the first time.

The football classic France against Germany will be broadcast live on ZDF on free TV and stream.

The two nations only met in September.

Under interim coach Rudi Völler, Germany surprisingly won 2-1.

The following Tuesday (March 26th) the German national team has a home game at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt.

Here too there is a real classic.

Finally, it's against the Netherlands from 8:45 p.m.

This game will also be broadcast on free TV and stream.

However, not from ZDF, but from private broadcaster RTL.

HEIDELBERG24 reports on both international matches in the live ticker.
