Alphonso Davies is on Real Madrid's wish list.
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund isn't giving up on the Canadian yet.
Munich – Is he going or staying?
In addition to the coaching question, the poker around Alphonso Davies is probably one of the most important personnel issues in the summer at FC Bayern.
The Canadian is under contract at Säbener Straße until 2025 and, according to the Bayern bosses, should extend his contract today rather than tomorrow.
Friend gives Bayern fans hope with Alphonso Davies
The problem: Davies has been on Real Madrid's wish list for months.
But the people of Munich are not giving up on their discovery and don't see the chances of an extension as bad.
During the U19 Youth League quarter-finals, sports director Christoph Freund said that a renewal of the contract was “not at all unlikely”.
Three words that give Bayern fans new hope that their 'roadrunner' will stay.
“There are conversations and they are good and open.
We’ll see how it turns out in the next few weeks,” the Austrian continued.

Next round of negotiations probably in the coming days
According to the pay channel Sky, further negotiations will take place in the next few days.
The biggest sticking point: the salary.
The Davies side is reportedly demanding an annual salary of 20 million euros, while Bayern are probably “only” offering eleven to 13 million euros annually.
In addition, it has been repeatedly reported in the Spanish media recently that the left-footer has already reached an agreement with the Royals.
His advisor Nedal Huoseh recently denied these reports in a conversation with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
“There is nothing agreed or specific with any club.
Alphonso’s focus at the moment is on FC Bayern,” said the Davies agent.

Freund also emphasized again on Tuesday: “Phonzie (nickname of Alphonso Davies;

I’m not negative about it at all.”
So new hope in Davies poker?
At least the people of Munich are not giving up their jewel without a fight.
However, if an agreement is still not reached, the German record champions have probably already identified a desired successor.
