At the end of last season, what they had in common was having discovered the joys of a first individual podium on a World Cup stage.
Lou Jeanmonnot climbed onto the second step of the podium in the individual event in Ruhpolding (Germany) in January 2023, when Éric Perrot took third place in the mass start in Östersund (Sweden), at the very end of the season.
At the end of this winter, they entered a new dimension.
At Soldier Hollow (United States), Éric Perrot won, at the age of 22, the first victory of his career on the circuit by winning the sprint.
“I promised myself not to end this season without having won one,” he whispered into the microphone of La Chaine L’Équipe after the race.
