Felix Neureuther is known for having strong opinions - and not just about skiing.
However, when asked to actively take responsibility, he blocks it.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen – When Felix Neureuther speaks, he is heard almost everywhere.
But what he says also causes sometimes wild discussions.
But that's what the former German ski star wanted: he wants to polarize in order to address the issues that are important to him and, in the best case, to bring about change.
In the future, Neureuther will not do more than ask to speak.

Felix Neureuther complains: Plans for the World Cup in Saudi Arabia are “absolutely perverse”

, the 2029 Asian Games are discussed, for which Saudi Arabia has already been awarded the contract - and which Neureuther has already complained about in this form in the past.
He once again underlines his attitude to this with clear wording: “The plans for this World Cup in Saudi Arabia are absolutely perverse, absurd and completely out of date.”
Neureuther believes that such decisions to hold the Asian Winter Games in Saudi Arabia are destroying the sport.
“You destroy what is unique: the positive power, the joy that all winter sports radiate.
But probably there has to be a catastrophe before insight comes in." From Neureuther's point of view, a boycott by the athletes would be a "suitable attitude: but I don't want to dictate that to anyone."

But this would require influential people with backbone and foresight at the top of the large associations.
So someone like Felix Neureuther.
“Forget it!” the 39-year-old immediately blocks.
Neureuther's strong opinion, his charisma and his excellent network ensure that he is highly respected in the industry.
So why doesn't he take more responsibility?
Because he knows the mechanisms, Neureuther gets started.
“Before you can move things, you have to clean the handles and adapt, you could also say: you have to bend.
That's not for me.” In any case, he has enough to do with his foundation, in which he works with the “Move Smartly” initiative to ensure that children move more, and his three small children.

He recently criticized the lack of exercise among children again.
“The leaders just don’t get it,” said Neureuther, not only criticizing the schools but also politicians.
He will continue to do so in the future.
