, expressed to the mayor of Romans-sur-Isère last week his wish to see the teenager's family and loved ones reunite at the opportunity for such a walk.
Zakaria, who was spending a few days with his family for Eid-El-Fitr (the breaking of the Ramadan fast, Editor's note), was killed with a blade in the back while he intervened in a fight between young people from the neighborhood and a family from outside the city, who came to settle scores. His father, Driss T., was in a nearby cafe when the tragedy took place. Alerted by residents, he rushed to the crime scene, while his son, in a pool of blood, was lying on the ground, surrounded by many local residents.

From now on, the investigation must still shed light on the circumstances of this murder, reclassified as “assassination” by the Valencia prosecutor's office. This has already clarified the place that Zakaria occupied in this group of people hostile to each other: that of a friend of the Monnaie group, stranger to the conflict which opposed the gang of adolescents to these individuals from the neighborhood des Ors, located on the other side of the Drôme commune.

Last week, these four suspects were successively placed in police custody and then indicted. These are members of one and the same family: a father, his eldest son and his youngest son, as well as the brother-in-law of the eldest of the siblings. The eldest son, aged 27, is named as the author of the fatal stabbing of Zakaria. According to the Valencia public prosecutor's office, the origin of this altercation is due to a previous dispute, which had already given rise two weeks earlier to a fight between young people from La Monnaie and one of the members of this family.
