Motorola announced the Edge 50 series, a trio of new smartphones with wooden, vegan versions and a special edition pearlescent polymer finish, handcrafted in Italy. A common thread is the Pantone color of the year, Peach Fuzz, a warm pink with a hint of orange.
The Edge 50 Ultra, 50 Pro, and 50 Fusion also boast AI-focused features. The top of the range, the Edge 50 Ultra, has a battery with TurboPower charging, which promises to provide a full day of use in just four minutes. At the base there is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 platform, up to 16 gigabytes of RAM and 1 terabyte of storage space. The device also supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Head Tracking. Then there's Style Sync, which allows users to "extend their personal style by capturing and uploading an image of their outfit model to generate more unique images," the company explains. Basically, this is AI inference that creates backgrounds that match the color palettes of an outfit. Then there is the possibility of genreizing images starting from a textual description: something that has already been seen on board the Google Pixel and Samsung smartphones with Galaxy AI.
Motorola says the Edge 50 Ultra adopts a cutting-edge camera system, once again with the benefit of AI. Adaptive stabilization, autofocus tracking and action shooting are just some of the options that use artificial intelligence to optimize your shot. The screen is 6.67 inches. Motorola Edge 50 pro features contoured edges, a sandblasted aluminum frame and a finish in vegan material or, in a special edition, pearlescent and handmade in Italy. The third on the list, the Edge 50 fusion, is launched in Marshmallow Blue in vegan material, Hot Pink in vegan suede or Forest Blue. The Pro and Fusion have a 6.7-inch display. Prices start from 449 euros.
