Kirchseeon is building a special kind of playground: The new equipment is scheduled to be delivered in mid-May and set up immediately afterwards.
Kirchseeon – The playground between the maypole and the church in Kirchseeon is supposed to be completely new. It is currently being demolished, excavators are in use, everything has been removed and some are temporarily stored. Individual elements should be reused and also integrated into the new concept. Some previous play equipment was described as “futuristic” in its design by users, meaning parents, and sometimes as an experiment. However, the offer was gladly accepted. A meeting point for parents and children on benches, provided with refreshments in the form of ice cream from the nearby ice cream parlors.
The meeting point was getting old
“The playground on the market square is getting old,” says Silke Mohs, head of the building authority. However, there were no accidents, according to the town hall. The redesign of the playground contributes to the beautification of the townscape, according to the statement. The play equipment was in need of repair and “we were approached by several families about the issue”. The new playground will be barrier-free and equipped with handicapped-accessible play equipment.
Sand bakery and wildlife park
Plans include a sand baking house with a slide, a “wildlife park” play area, a barrier-free sand construction site and a water feature.

The order for the play equipment, including delivery and assembly, amounts to around 125,000 euros, according to the town hall in response to a request from EZ. The dismantling has now been carried out by the municipal building yard. Play equipment that can still be used could also be set up elsewhere in the market town. After dismantling, the construction yard installs the fall protection and restores the subsurface.
The area will be surrounded by a fence. New trees should be planted. The new devices are scheduled to be delivered in mid-May and set up immediately afterwards. According to the town hall, the exact date for completion also depends on the weather.
The new concept includes, among other things, double swings that can accommodate two children. According to the motto: Joy shared is joy doubled. Children can fly high and back again at the same time with or against each other, according to the commissioned company. There is space for several children in the nest swing. There is also an offer for children with disabilities.

The Wildpark play area will offer a variety of exercise options, including balancing at “lofty heights”. A climbing net can be integrated into role-playing games. Plus rope ladders and climbing wall. Smaller children can also try out and practice their motor skills on other activities.
