Two months after she went missing, today (Wednesday) the family of Heimnot Cassau will celebrate her tenth birthday, while they are still without her. "We are waiting for you Haymanut," said this morning her sister, Yaros, and appealed to the public to come back and help in the search for her.
Eldest sister Yaros Kassau said that today the family will celebrate Heimnot's tenth birthday. The family will mark the day by preparing the food that Haymanut especially likes - pancakes and a traditional Ethiopian dish made from sweet wheat. Also, in the afternoon, there will be an event at the reception center in Safed Tifala with the participation of the residents there.
Tomorrow, a search day will be held, to which volunteers from all over the country are expected to arrive. Now, on her sister's birthday, Yeros is asking anyone who can to come help. "Now only a few people come to search, not like it was in the early days." The family is also asking for the public's help in increasing the monetary reward for those who provide information that will assist in finding Haymanut and in financing additional expenses. To this end, the family published a website for transferring donations.
Heimnot immigrated with her family from Ethiopia to Israel three years ago and lived in the reception center on 9 IDF Street in Safed. On Sunday, February 25, Heimnot went on an annual trip with her class from the "Shebat Sofer" school in Hazor HaGalilit, and returned home around 4:00 p.m. After that, she went to work with the tutors at the reception centers, after the activity, she was last seen on the security camera at the entrance of the reception center at 19:00.
Extensive searches have been conducted in and around Safed, but so far no clue has been found to help solve the mystery of her absence. The Jewish Agency offered a cash reward of 100,000 shekels to anyone who would provide reliable information that would lead to Heimnot's finding.
