, in which the former president speaks seven times at various events about wanting to end Obamacare. The account “Biden-Harris HQ” – which claims to be the official profile of the Biden campaign – posted the video on X and has so far received over 320,000 views.
Two days earlier, Trump had posted his own video on his social media platform “Truth Social” in which he largely relativized his earlier calls for an end to the ACA. “I’m not running to repeal the ACA, like corrupt Joe Biden says everywhere,” Trump announces in the video message to his followers. Instead, he wants to make Obamacare “much better, stronger and much cheaper.”

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as the ACA is called in full, is a United States federal law that regulates access to health insurance in the United States. The health care reform requires almost all US citizens to take out health insurance, and people with low incomes are subsidized. At the same time, insurance companies must accept all patients, regardless of previous illnesses. The ACA is also called Obamacare because it was introduced in 2010 at the urging of the Obama administration.
Past attempts by the Republican Party to repeal the ACA have failed. “We almost got it done, but John McCain voted against it,” Trump chants in one section of the

video compilation. That was a “bad day”. The ex-president is referring to the blockade of the late Republican senator from Arizona in the US Senate. McCain, alongside Rand Paul from Kentucky, voted with the Democrats against his own party's draft for a new health care system, meaning that the Republicans' narrow 52-48 majority was no longer valid.
Former president in court: Trump accuses Democrats of election fraud
Donald Trump made headlines earlier this year when he once again mocked John McCain during a speech in Iowa. It was about his support for Obamacare. Meghan McCain, daughter of the late senator, defended her father and called Trump a “shitty election denier,” among other things. In the past, the ex-president has repeatedly accused the Democrats of allegedly manipulating elections.
Today, the 77-year-old also accused the Democrats of fraud on his social network Truth Social. Trump sees himself in the sights of a smear campaign: In a court case in New York, he has to answer for hush money payments that are said to have flowed to the erotic actress Stormy Daniels - and cast a considerable shadow over his election campaign.
