The 6 new festive and trendy bars in Paris

2024-04-16T04:22:22.663Z

Highlights: These six new bars, as elegant as they are exhilarating, make you want to go out at night. The Golden Shell at the Hôtel Voltaire has black lacquered walls and ceiling, lit by four gold shells. From 8 p.m., the place transforms into a piano bar with, on the menu, its favorite cocktails, such as the 102. The Mikado has been revisited by the Festen duo, in the basement of the Rochechouart hotel. The Temptations, with a Paris-Brest taste, with coffee, rum, peanut butter, is served at L'Lanouvellegarde in the Brasserie Des Prés. The Delirium is a surprising mixture of gin, basil, juice lime and… gold leaves at the Chateau Voltaire, where you can sip a Voltaire with gin, lemon, bergamot liqueur or a purple Madame Claude, to the sound of a jazzy playlist.

Groovie, disco atmosphere

Perched on the 2nd floor of the Brasserie Des Prés, here is a festive cocktail bar dressed in red and with a mirrored ceiling, not forgetting the velvet seats for a decidedly disco look. Jennifer Le Nechet, world mixology champion, has imagined more than ten cocktails inspired by desserts from home breweries. Like The Temptations, with a Paris-Brest taste, with coffee, rum, peanut butter. Well seen: the small plates of tapas.

Le Poppy, a speakeasy feel

In the basement of the Hôtel des Grands Voyageurs, there is a hidden bar with walls covered in dark wood, decorated with original lithographs by Marc Chagall and lined with large benches under a mirrored ceiling. Among the seven signature cocktails, we like the Blue Velvet, with tequila and lime, accompanied by truffle chips. At 10 p.m., it's time for the DJ sets!

The Golden Shell, the most fashionable

Named in a nod to the 16th century motif that adorns its door, the bar at the Hôtel Voltaire has black lacquered walls and ceiling, lit by four gold shells. Snugly seated in a banquette, you can sip a Voltaire with gin, lemon, bergamot liqueur or a purple Madame Claude, to the sound of a jazzy playlist. The best? Ice cubes decorated with a shell!

Gainsbarre, leap in time

Black walls, tables and armchairs, subdued lighting... The decor does honor to the artist. On the walls, vintage portraits and original manuscripts of his songs illuminate the whole. From 8 p.m., the place transforms into a piano bar with, on the menu, its favorite cocktails, such as the 102 and a remarkable Bloody Mary to sip to the sound of a piano playing the great classics of blues and jazz.

Marta, the coziest

Located on the ground floor of Fouquet's, this bar displays a decor that is not shy. Entirely upholstered from floor to ceiling with a floral fabric, the Marta looks like a cocotte boudoir. The waiters' costumes, the lampshades, the menus and even the burger box are adorned with the same motif... As for cocktails, we dare to try the place's flagship creation, the Delirium: a surprising mixture of gin, basil, juice lime and… gold leaves.

La Mikado, an air of the Roaring Twenties

An iconic place since the 1920s, in turn a temple of tango, tea dances and gambling dens, the Mikado has been revisited by the Festen duo, in the basement of the Rochechouart hotel. Counter with Art Deco designs, dance floor, disco balls, velvet curtains: the atmosphere is both festive and cozy. We toast with a Mikado with gin, curaçao, verbena… then hit the track!
