1. Set jetting
Have you ever dreamed of strolling the streets of New York like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City? These are travel destinations that have a similar feel to popular and often overcrowded travel destinations. However, the twin destinations are generally less well-known, cheaper and not as crowded. They offer travelers the opportunity to have a similar experience at much better rates. The term “dupe” – derived from the English word “duplicate” – originally went viral on TikTok for cosmetics. The expression is now also used in tourism to show alternatives.

travel trends report, 53 percent of Germans are considering visiting a twin destination. 58 percent of travelers hope to meet fewer other tourists. For example, if you're traveling to Australia, you can skip Sydney and visit Perth on the west coast instead. In the US, Memphis is an attractive dupe for Nashville, while tourists in Thailand can visit Pattaya instead of Bangkok. 3. Sustainable travel
In times of climate change and environmental pollution, sustainability is very important - even when traveling. According

, over half of the 27,000 people surveyed (53 percent) want accommodation that not only offers comfort but also innovative sustainability. That's why a sustainability badge can now be found in selected accommodations on the online platform. For the sake of the environment, public transport should be used locally instead of rental cars.
4. Concert hopping
In 2023, Taylor Swift set a record with her “Eras” tour: the pop superstar achieved sales of more than a billion US dollars within one year. Beyoncé's “Renaissance” tour was also a big hit. This fits with the increasing trend of traveling to other cities or countries for concerts or festivals.
