King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia celebrated ABBA's victory at the ESC together 50 years ago. Sweden's monarch was unusually emotional.
Stockholm - On April 6, 1974, the Swedish pop group ABBA, consisting of Agnetha Fältskog (74), Anni-Frid Lyngstad (78), Björn Ulvaeus (78) and Benny Andersson (77), won the Eurovision Song Contest with "Waterloo". On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of their ESC success, ABBA was honored with a tribute show at the Cirkus Arena in Stockholm. There were also two very special ABBA fans in the audience – Queen Silvia (80) and King Carl XVI. Gustaf of Sweden (77).
