The wind is blowing across France this Easter weekend. A low pressure system coming from the Atlantic and the British Isles is shaking up the weather, indicates La Chaîne Météo*. Its passage comes after that of Storm Nelson on Thursday March 28 which caused gusts of 100 to 130 km/h. On Friday, 2,000 homes were still without electricity in Rhône-Alpes.
This Saturday, a south to southeast wind is blowing strongly over the Massif Central. It strengthens during the day on the Bouches-du-Rhône coastline with gusts exceeding 80 to 90 km/h. Heavy stormy showers are also affecting the Ardèche with a total of 30 to 40 mm of rain expected.

Due to this depression, Météo France places two departments on orange alert for flooding:
Dordogne
and
Corrèze
. The meteorological agency then places the majority of other metropolitan departments in yellow for wind in the South-East, thunderstorm in the eastern half of the country, rain-flood and avalanche. The Weather Channel even speaks of a
“Mediterranean episode”
to describe the strong gusts in the South-East.
Only the western half of the country is relatively spared with some morning clearings. However, the weather will become more unstable in the afternoon with showers which can locally take on a stormy character. To be dry, you will have to go to the Pyrenees.
