Princess Madeleine's move to Stockholm should only be postponed. Now their return home may be at stake.
Stockholm - Since 2018, Princess Madeleine (41) has lived with her husband Christopher O'Neill (49) and their children Princess Leonore (10), Prince Nicolas (8) and Princess Adrienne (6) in Pinecrest in the US state of Florida. Last summer the family was already sitting on packed suitcases, but the planned move to Sweden was canceled at the last minute. Now the time has come this year – actually.
Royal expert sure: Chris O'Neill “doesn't want to live as a royal prisoner in the castle”
Although Princess Madeleine is drawn back to her old home, Chris O'Neill apparently cannot imagine life in Stockholm at all. The entrepreneur considers his privacy sacred, which is why he refused to accept Swedish citizenship and bear the title of prince after his wedding to Madeleine in 2013.

The announcement of Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill's moving plans was a bit ill-considered, royal expert Herman Lindqvist (80) told the Swedish magazine

. “Maybe at some point they suddenly had the feeling that it was possible. But then they regretted it,” Lindqvist is certain.
It's probably because he [Chris] just doesn't want to live as a royal prisoner in the castle (...) I also think he wouldn't like it in Stockholm, which is small for him. As soon as he runs 300 meters, people constantly stare at him and know who he is. If you don't enjoy this role, it's unbearable.

Visit instead of moving – are Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill staying in Florida?
After stints in London, Boston and New York, Chris O'Neill is said to feel very comfortable in Florida. Herman Lindqvist is certain that Stockholm, on the other hand, is less accommodating to businessmen. "I don't think he wants to live there, it's so crowded in the city and he's used to living in larger houses and villas with gardens and swimming pools." The Swedish royal expert is convinced that the relocation plans of Princess Madeleine and Chris have been on ice for a long time.

“They’re coming to visit now or whatever you want to call it,” is Lindqvist’s prognosis for Madeleine’s family. It remains to be seen whether the Swedish royal family will really soon announce that Princess Madeleine will stay in the USA - or whether a specific move date will be set. Until then, her siblings Crown Princess Victoria (46) and Prince Carl Philip (44) have to hold the fort in Sweden - but on Victoria's name day, Prince Oscar stole the show.
