Seven people were injured last night (Friday) on a United Airlines flight from Tel Aviv to New York, after the plane experienced strong turbulence and diverted to another airport, the New York Post reported. Paramedics waiting in the field found that the injured needed hospitalization in the city's hospitals. The FAA, the US Federal Aviation Authority, is investigating the incident.
United Airlines Flight 85 that left Tel Aviv on Friday at 07:00 (US time) was supposed to land at Liberty Port in New Jersey, and landed instead at Stewart International Airport in Orange County, New York at 18:45 ( United States time). The airline said that the Boeing 737 plane diverted to the alternate airport "after strong winds were reported in New York".
