An overtaking maneuver by an unknown person led to a serious accident on the B472 between Waakirchen and Schopfloch. The perpetrator fled.
Waakirchen - A seriously injured person who had to be transported to the Murnau Clinic by rescue helicopter, two other injured people, property damage amounting to 40,000 euros and a two-hour complete closure of the federal highway: These are the consequences of the overtaking maneuver carried out by an unknown person on Maundy Thursday, October 7th clock, has done.
Accident after overtaking maneuver on B472 between Waakirchen and Schopfloch
As the police announced, an unknown person was traveling on the B 472 towards Bad Tölz. Between Waakirchen and Schopfloch he overtook a truck - despite oncoming traffic. A Garmisch van on the opposite lane was able to brake just in time to avoid a head-on collision. The Geretsrieder behind him and the Tölzer behind him also braked in time. However, the Holzkirchner behind the Tölzer couldn't make it anymore - and pushed the vehicles in front of him into each other. The Tölzer was turned into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a woman from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Man seriously injured in accident on B472 in Upper Bavaria
The 48-year-old driver from Tölz suffered serious injuries. The fire department rescued him from his car and a rescue helicopter flew him to the Murnau Clinic. The Garmisch driver (43) and the Holzkirchner driver (38) were taken to nearby hospitals with minor injuries.
The total material damage from the traffic accident is estimated at around 40,000 euros. The federal highway was completely closed for about two hours.
The Bad Wiessee police station is asking for information from witnesses about the fleeing car.
