Subway: Faculty of Medicine station reopens and another stop will close to begin construction

The work at the Faculty of Medicine included waterproofing work, painting, improving floors and ironwork, new lighting, rearrangement of electrical wiring, adaptation of signage and new furniture on the platform, such as benches, baskets and ischial supports.

The objective was to guarantee better circulation through the stations, by transforming them into more comfortable, orderly spaces with greater lighting.

The Faculty of Medicine station was closed

since January 8

. Initially it affected the entire D line, due to modernization work on the signal system. On March 7, the Congress-Cathedral route reopened, although the Faculty of Medicine stop remained out of operation.

"We are very happy to reopen this completely renovated station, which will benefit, above all, the students. Faculty of Medicine joins five other stations that we valued and we are going to continue with this plan in order to continue improving the subway for all those who choose it as a means of transportation," said the president of Subterráneos de Buenos Aires, Javier Ibañez.

Pasteur station will close for works. Since 2015 it has been called Pasteur-AMIA.

In Pasteur-AMIA, where the survey and removal tasks have already begun, the same work will continue and, in addition, the artistic interventions will be valued. The murals will be restored, progress will be made in replacing the plots and in repairing the totem and interpretation center. The curatorship will be done in conjunction with AMIA.

Within the framework of the same plan, the stations Castro Barros and Acoyte (Line A), San Martín (Line C), Bulnes (Line D) and Jujuy (Line E) were also remodeled. At the same time, the construction of nine Premetro stations is also advancing.
