Sad discovery this Thursday afternoon in the Parc de Sceaux. Around ten 5th grade students from the Marie Curie school complex discovered a man hanging from a tree around 2 p.m. The schoolchildren had barely started an orienteering race in the area when they saw the victim, not far from the body of water.

In shock, the middle school students immediately joined their teacher to warn her. She allegedly tried to unhook the man by asking a jogger for help, but in vain. He was already lifeless. She immediately called for help and removed the students.

“Parents and children very upset”

Emergency services and firefighters were dispatched to the scene but were unable to bring the victim back to life. According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim living in Sceaux was born in 1944. She was transported to the Garches forensic institute.

As soon as they returned from the park, the schoolchildren were taken care of by the establishment's psychologist. The parents were notified and they were able to return home. Psychological support was also offered to all students and teachers at the establishment. “The parents and children have been very upset since yesterday but they were taken care of very quickly,” confides a parent of a student. The news quickly spread in this small, wealthy and quiet town in Hauts-de-Seine. “I have a thought for the children because it is quite traumatic but I know that the college did everything possible and they were able to issue a fine,” adds Philippe Laurent, the mayor (UDI) of the town.
