Passengers missing after Flixbus accident: Fire brigade searches next to A9 with thermal imaging camera

After the accident, the rescue workers only counted 52 people (including the deceased). The Wiedemar municipal fire brigade describes the operation in detail on Facebook: "During the course of the emergency service, identification of the bus driver and the removal of the injured by the DRK district emergency service and helicopter (four), it was determined that three passengers could not be found."

A search began immediately for the people who were presumably injured. “The operations management decided to send several search teams with thermal imaging cameras into the adjacent areas (forest and vegetation areas) to view the missing people. A helicopter was also used for further searches, as was the drone from the district of North Saxony.”
