Evgeny Vinokurov took part in “Let’s Dance” for the first time in 2019. Now he looks back on his journey so far and talks openly about who he initially didn't want to dance with.

Cologne – On Friday evening (March 29th) RTL will show the special episode “Let's Dance – The Magic Moments of the Professionals”. For once, the focus of the issue is not on the celebrities, but on the professional dancers and they are allowed to comment on previous moments from the RTL show. Evgeny Vinokurov (33) is also there - and he reveals which celebrity he actually didn't want to appear with.

“Please not her”: “Let’s Dance” professional Evgeny admits his first thoughts about his dance partner

Evgeny Vinokurov is not a dancer in the current season - but he still looks back on his special moments in the RTL show as part of the "Let's Dance" special episode. The 33-year-old especially remembers his first participation.

“My first season, I obviously came with a sporty mindset. “I have to win here now, I have to prove something now – and then Evelyn came,” Evgeny Vinokurov openly admits his thoughts about his partner Evelyn Burdecki (35), with whom he floated across the RTL dance floor for the first time in 2019. “My first thought was actually: Not her, please.” But then there was a shock for the dancer at the introductory show: he actually had to compete with the reality TV star.

“That was bad”: Evgeny not satisfied with the initial “Let’s Dance” performance

Evgeny says that the initial weeks were very difficult for him because Evelyn had her “own work ethic”. The dancer admits that he had planned too much for the first show - this was ultimately reflected in the points. Evgeny admits: “That was bad.” But over time, the 33-year-old let go and began to “love” his dance partner for who she is.

The dancer is said to have later understood that the RTL show was entertainment. Despite initial difficulties, Evgeny and Evelyn even ended up in fifth place because they improved together from show to show. In addition to Evgeny, other “Let's Dance” favorites are not taking part in this year's season - much to the disappointment of many fans.
