France is as if cut in two this Thursday. A very large northern half is affected by violent, even stormy winds, while, according to Météo France, the south of the country benefits from significantly calmer and sunny weather.
In the morning,
once the overnight precipitation has cleared from the west, new rains affect a large western part of the territory. Some storms break out on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The wind gusts to around a hundred kilometers per hour on the coasts, around 50 km/h inland throughout the northern part of France. The north of the country is therefore on orange alert (level 3 out of 4) or yellow (level 2 out of 4) due to the strong wind. Elsewhere, a few showers continue to occur in the East and the Alps, sometimes in the form of snow in certain massifs. The sun is present in Occitanie and to the west of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
In the afternoon,
the wind strengthens inland across a large northern part of the country. On an axis going from Pays de la Loire to Nièvre, it reaches 100 km/h; it overtakes them on the coasts. In other regions, it blows from 60 km/h to 80 km/h. Precipitation is heaviest in the windiest areas. The sky remains overcast elsewhere with the exception of the coasts and Hauts-de-France where the sky is clearing. In the South, the sun is present, except along the Atlantic and in Corsica. Temperatures range from 10°C to 12°C in the North, close to average; in the South, they range from 14°C to 18°C, again close to average. With the wind, however, the feeling may be several degrees lower.

In the evening and at night
the wind calms down, even if it reaches the Rhône valley and the shores of the Mediterranean, but with gusts limited to around 50 km/h. It continues to rain in a large western part of the country. This precipitation reaches the east of the territory over the hours.
In Île-de-France,
the sky is overcast all day. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out in the afternoon. The rains return during the night. Temperatures are between 6°C and 8°C in the morning and between 10°C and 13°C in the afternoon, a little below average. The wind reaches 50 km/h, even a little more in the morning; it strengthens by around ten kilometers per hour in the afternoon before weakening at the end of the day.
