After Stefanie Hertel and her husband Lanny Lanner were part of the RTL production “The Passion”, they talked in a live talk about why Easter is being brought forward for the family this year.
Kassel - As part of RTL's follow-up report, Schlager star Stefanie Hertel (44) and her husband Lanny Lanner (49) told how they spend Easter. The two explain together in a live interview why the festival is being brought forward this year.

Both had a lot of fun performing the modern musical version of “The Passion”, which RTL conceived for the second time in a live show for Easter. They told this in an interview with RTL presenter Frauke Ludowig (60) live on stage after the performance on March 27, 2024. Lanner, who appeared as a police officer in the piece, is also a singer and composer. The Austrian compared his debut in the piece to singing in his country band “More than words”, in which Johanna Mross (22), the daughter of Stefanie Hertel and ex-husband Stefan Mross (48), also sings along.
The Easter story for RTL is “something completely different, very touching”. He thinks it is important that faith, no matter what, comes more to the fore again. When asked about the approaching Easter holidays, Stefanie Hertel said that she was going to Mannheim again on Easter Sunday to prepare for the premiere of her specially produced play “All of Paris Dreams of Love”. It is scheduled to take place on April 3, 2024, before a tour of Germany with the piece is planned. Stefanie Hertel will also play a role in it.
Stefanie Hertel works hard for her projects
When it comes to her work ethic, the 44-year-old is unstoppable: Just a few months ago, Stefanie Hertel hosted a show with a broken arm and a cast after she fell shortly before the recording. Because the new job on the theater stage is calling shortly after Easter, Easter is brought forward for the Hertel/Lanner family. The couple wants to spend Easter Saturday in Carinthia, Austria, with the family of their husband Lanny, whose real name is Leopold. The Saxon-born woman finds the way they celebrate there “particularly beautiful”.

The Vogtland native likes the beautiful traditions and delicious food such as pastries and “Easter snacks” in her husband’s homeland, says Hertel. The hearty mixture is served as a festive dish and is often given away in a gift basket in Austria. The composition varies depending on the region. In Carinthia, a “Reindling”, a cupcake, is topped with Easter ham and served with pork sausages.

Stefanie Hertel and Lanny Lanner met in 2011 when Hertel was looking for a guitarist for a TV show. The wedding followed in 2014. From 1991 to 2022 she was married to colleague Stefan Mross. The former GDR child star is now no longer only active in the music industry, but is also increasingly in demand as an actress. Stefanie Hertel recently told us what she thinks about a role in “Tatort”.
