A Renault Twingo, very small, round like a bubble, speeds along a country road through the woods, climbs towards a medieval tower, crosses a stone bridge, arrives at the village square of Château-Chervix, in the Limousin, finally parks in front of the tobacco bar. Two people get out: a man of around fifty, with beard and round glasses, accompanied by his mother. They tour the town on foot. From the way their gaze lingers on the buildings, we sense that they are returning to places they once knew. Suddenly, the man sees a tree in the schoolyard, recognizes it, and this vision gives him access to his memory. He remembers and tells.

Next page, here he is on the same road that he took earlier to go up to the village, but he is 6 years old, and he is sitting in a small school bus van, a blue Peugeot D3, facing the taunts from his classmates. His parents have just moved to the surrounding area…
