MK Elazar Stern will vote this evening (Thursday) in favor of the candidacy of MK Ram Ben Barak in the primaries for the leadership of Yesh Atid. This is the first Knesset member in the party known to support Ben Barak. According to two political sources, Stern said in recent days in conversations with representatives in the party that "in order to return to being a ruling party, we need real cooperation with the public and processes that reflect democracy as a culture and not just in the selection of a chairman.
" This is lacking in the party and is also reflected in the public's attitude toward Lish Atid," this is in relation to the decrease in the number of mandates in recent polls. MK Stern has had a tense relationship with Lapid for a long time, and he is often critical of his conduct, such as, among other things, regarding the party's entry into the emergency government at the beginning of the war "Iron Swords".

The primaries in Bis Atid for the leadership of the party will be held today for the first time. One candidate is facing party chairman Yair Lapid: MK Ram Ben Barak.
