Barbara Schöneberger actually wants to punish Thomas Gottschalk because he shows up at BR three hours late. But things turn out differently.
Munich – At “Do you understand fun?” on Saturday, two absolute show greats meet in a prank. And it's a double issue: Barbara Schöneberger (50) actually sees herself as a decoy and believes that she's taking Thomas Gottschalk (73) for a ride. But the truth is different: she is being tricked by her own team. That's how the presenter of the show got caught. Three and a half days before the show, a two and a half minute compilation of the spectacular coup and the story were published.

“Do you understand fun?”: Gottschalk arrives at BR three hours late – Schöneberger wants to give him a lesson
It goes like this: Gottschalk simply shows up three hours late at a supposedly important appointment with the director of Bayerischer Rundfunk. At the BR, Schöneberger sits at reception as a well-disguised porter with false teeth. She thinks she is unrecognizable and feels well equipped to lead Gottschalk onto the ice. The plan: She wants to take the legend to task and strictly deny him access to the building.
“Do you understand fun?”: The real victim is called Barbara Schöneberger
What she doesn't know: Gottschalk is involved - and Schöneberger is the real victim. Because the ex-“Wetten, dass..?” presenter simply doesn’t come to the gate. He makes phone calls and walks straight through the BR gate, which shouldn't actually be open. Everything goes wrong with the so beautifully prepared deception. That's why "the 'Do you understand fun?' host's nerves are on edge," says the press release. You can find out what it looks like and what it sounds like in the preview. And also how Schöneberger talks to the director.
“Do you understand fun?”: Barbara Schöneberger loses her temper
Because it's not just Gottschalk's wrong paths that drive her mad. Her team continues to encourage her, for example with a sarcastic “It's a great film now” and “It's going to blow us away, Barbara!” from the director's mouth. A troublemaker is also sent over to her, who gets on her nerves even further.

“It's an important story that you're getting out of here now” and “Please get out of the way! There are cameras everywhere here,” she complains to him. And then says to the jury: “Why can’t you keep guys like that away from me?” And so it goes on and on. “If he comes right now, Gottschalk, then the guy will ruin the film for us,” she whispers to the director. Or: “I don't understand it, honestly. Friends, honestly. This is a big fuckup, honestly.”
How the story continues and how Schöneberger reacts when she finds out that she is not a decoy but a trickster can be admired on Saturday evening from 8:15 p.m. on the first. Incidentally, Gottschalk himself was once made fun of on “Do you understand fun?” – in Bavaria. Did you know that Helene Fischer has also worked as a pizza baker?
