The Geological Institute announced this evening (Thursday) that an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 was felt in eastern Samaria. The tremor was also felt in the Jordan Valley, according to resident reports. Reports of the earthquake were also published in the Palestinian Authority. This is the second earthquake of similar intensity during this week. On Saturday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 was felt in the Haifa area. "The big windows rattled and shook," said one of Haifa's residents. Residents also reported that the tremors were felt in Beit Al-Hasita. The Geological Institute confirmed that a magnitude 3.4 earthquake struck the area.
In Israel, a large earthquake occurs every hundred years, the last time was in 1927. Among experts there is an agreement that a large and strong earthquake that will occur in Israel is only a matter of time - with the question being mainly when and how strong it will be. Today's earthquake comes about two weeks after a magnitude 3.8 earthquake hit Tiberias and other settlements in the north of the country. Past experience shows that many times major events in this field were preceded by a series of smaller foreshocks.

Following the previous earthquake, the Israel Police is recalling the guidelines for proper behavior during an earthquake when receiving an earthquake warning or when noticing signs of an earthquake:
those staying in a building - if possible, go out into an open area. If it is not possible to leave the building within a few seconds, one must enter the MMD and leave the door and windows open, or go out into the stairwell and continue down until exiting the building. Only if this cannot be done, one must sit in an inner corner of the room or under a heavy piece of furniture and protect the head with your hands.
Those who are outside - stay in the open and stay away from buildings, trees, electrical cables and items that may fall and endanger you.
Those who travel by car - stop the vehicle on the side of the road and wait inside it until the earthquake stops. Avoid stopping under a bridge or on an overpass.
Those who are staying near The beach - stay away from the beach at least one kilometer for fear of a tsunami coming and flooding the beach. If it is not possible to leave the beach area, go to the fourth floor or higher of a nearby building.
