"You're a fucking rapist!" The former footballer Dani Alves appeared this morning for the first time in the Barcelona Court after receiving the benefit of provisional freedom after having posted the bail of one million euros imposed as bail and the one he received was not the best. A group of protesters were waiting for him and he received what is known in Argentina as an escrache.

Dressed in white and a beige jacket, Alves arrived around 9:20 a.m. this Thursday at the Barcelona Palace of Justice, accompanied by his lawyer, Inés Guardiola, to appear before section 21a of the Provincial Court: the footballer was barely about ten minutes in the justice building and got back into the car, a Mini Cooper, which took him back to his home.

The Brazilian has been sentenced in the first instance to four years and six months in prison for raping a young woman in the toilets of the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022, and has spent a total of 14 months in prison.

Last week, section 21 of the Barcelona Court, the courtroom that tried and convicted him,

Finally, Alves left the Brians 2 prison, in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (Barcelona), last Monday afternoon, after having been able to deposit that same day in the morning the million euros imposed by the Court of Barcelona to be able to leave in freedom.

Among the precautionary measures imposed, the withdrawal of the two passports - Brazilian and Spanish - stands out, the prohibition to leave the country and the obligation to appear every Friday before the section 21a secretariat, or the last previous working day in the event that be festive, as happened this Thursday.

Alves arrived by car after having left his house about half an hour earlier, and got out of the vehicle accompanied by his lawyer, with whom he traveled the meters that separate one of the sides of the Palace of Justice with the main entrance.

The Brazilian arrived at the court dressed in a white shirt, pants and sneakers, and with a brown jacket, with a calm attitude and without paying attention to the press, which was waiting for him on the other side of the street, separated from the entrance by fences installed by the Mossos d'Esquadra for security.

Nor did he flinch at the insults that emphasized the act for which he was convicted in the first instance: "You are a rapist." "You are a fucking rapist," the microphones captured the transmissions that showed the entrance to the Court and the exit.

At no time, neither the former FC Barcelona footballer nor his lawyer have made any type of statement to the media that were waiting for him.

Alves was inside the Palace of Justice for around ten minutes. Once the procedure was completed, he walked out and headed back to the car that was waiting for him on the corner where he had previously left him, driven by a friend of his.

During Alves's brief appearance in court, a spontaneous person approached the area where the press was and scolded the footballer with cries of "rapist", and also reproached him for being able to get out of jail in exchange for a million euros, among other insults.

Yesterday, it was leaked that on the first day of freedom, Alves hosted a party at his home for a group of close friends.

For its part, the Barcelona Provincial Prosecutor's Office presented an appeal against the decision to release Alves on bail - something that the victim's lawyer also announced would do -, considering that the current risk of escape is "even greater" now in the face of the existence of a conviction.
