Tough evening for RER C travelers Monday evening.
Some passengers stuck on a train due to a technical incident got off the tracks to reach the François-Mitterrand library station on Monday evening, according to SNCF.
On social networks, users posted several videos showing users walking on the RER tracks, some complaining of having remained stopped for “more than an hour”, or “nearly two hours”.
The RER C was blocked for more than an hour.
They had to take us down on the tracks.

The origin of the problem: an electrical blockage of the signal box at Austerlitz station which led to a significant disruption of traffic between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
“Traffic was interrupted between Champs de Mars - Eiffel Tower and François-Mitterrand library and certain trains were stopped outside the platform,” said the SNCF.
“We regret this situation but our agents cannot evacuate travelers before having identified and understood the origin of the breakdown,” adds the same source.
“Some travelers” from a train parked near the François-Mitterrand library station therefore made the decision to get out of the train and walk to the station where agents were “present to welcome them”.
@RERC_SNCF is that normal?
You are putting the lives of thousands of people in danger, are you not ashamed?
I hope all the dust we ate is not harmful otherwise believe me the trial you will eat it pic.twitter.com/ifNbxCJ4ke
